Britney Jean Spears (born December 2, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, and dancer.
During COVID-19 Lockdown
From a 2020 wrmf.com article:
“On days like today where the sun’s really not out and we’re all staying in, these are a couple of things that I do just to stay sane and to balance myself out,” Britney helpfully introduces in the video she shot in her bedroom. “I do a little bit of prayer in the morning and I also do a lot of stretching and a little bit of yoga!”
The 38-year-old then films herself performing a series of exercises and yoga moves, ranging from beginner to expert, as Martin Garrix‘s “Animals” plays in the background.
Britney starts off with some back stretches before moving onto leg exercises and working on her core muscles. She is mindful at all times of the camera’s positioning so she shoots herself at the best angle so fans can follow along and learn how to do the moves themselves.
“Take it with a grain of salt,” captioned Spears, who encouraged commentators to keep their negativity to themselves. “The way to inspire oneself is to go beyond yourself and to take action ….. which is very hard in these self-isolating times !!!!!”
She continues, “It’s easier to just chat on the phone and gossip ….. or to play that game where you look at what everyone else is doing and say damn I feel left out” before encouraging fans that even “the simplest of teachings are the best.”
Diet
Despite everything that is going on around her with Framing Britney Spears and in the fight over her conservatorship Spears has constantly remained positive and upbeat.
The “Oops I Did It Again” singer continues to connect with her fans through her Instagram account. She’s been opening up on her own terms in a way that has never been done before. “My favorite song is ‘Toxic’ that I have done,” Spears said. “And I have no idea what my favorite song in the whole world is.”
However, Spears stunned fans when she revealed her favorite food “Chili hot dog,” she said, laughing at the camera. It was super unexpected but we can see why the pop star loves it.
In early February 2021, Spears jokingly shared that she was going to go on the “ice cream diet” which honestly sounds like a dream. However, she has sense revealed that she decided against it and instead tried out some healtier eating habits.
“No … I didn’t follow through with the ice cream diet,” she wrote, adding a laughing and ice cream cone emoji. “I chose portion control which is very hard when it comes to Doritos [closed-eyes and laughing emojis] !!!!! On a positive note … my body does feel way better now [flexing emoji] !!!!”
While Spears eats healthy most of the time, she does allow herself to cheat every now and then, “like last night when I ate a container of peanuts,” she said, adding a few peanut emojis. When it comes to weight loss, dietary cheaters almost always prosper. That’s because under the right parameters, a weekly “cheat meal” has been proven to boost your metabolism and ward off feelings of deprivation—improving not only your ability to lose weight, but your ability to stick to your diet plan as well. In fact, a 2017 study published in the International Journal of Obesity found that dieters who took a two-week break from their low-calorie meal plan lost more weight than those who dieted consistently.
Workout
Britney decided to get into fighting form with a popular sport-slash-workout. “I started boxing so now I feel stronger too,” she admitted. In addition to building strength, boxing can help improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, boost mood and endurance as well as increase alertness, according to Harvard Health.
In addition to sharing her favorite things, the 39-year-old often showcases her favorite exercises. Spears has been vocal about her fitness journey for years, sharing how much she hates the treadmill. However, that doesn’t stop her from getting in a good sweat session.
Though she is not performing right now, Spears adores dancing, and can often be seen moving and twirling around to songs like Otis Redding’s “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay.” She also adores doing yoga, core workouts, and lifting weights which is why she’s remained so toned and lean over the years.
However, the Crossroads actor stunned fans in 2020 when she revealed she accidentally burned down her home gym. “I had two candles, and yeah, one thing led to another and I burned it down,” she said in an Instagram video via Entertainment Weekly.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, and Spears was able to work out outside until the gym was repaired. “Unfortunately now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol and a one-sided mirror gym!!!!! But it could be much worse so I’m grateful,” she shared on Instagram. “Pssss I like working out better outside anyways.”
